My Bookmark Review

So far, we have joined Fletcher in the woods as he has killed a young stag just before the the sun has started to set. We soon read about his race back to gates of the small northern town where he lives. While upon entering the town he find the gates lock before the ringing of the bell, which is suppose to indicate that the town is closed. Now he has a new set of issues when trying to reenter the city. Finding himself face to face with the guard on duty, Didric Carvell, a boy of only 15 much like Fletcher himself but far more arrogant and frankly nothing more than a conman's son as well as a conman himself. This is where Fletcher is swindled by the Didric for a large part of the kill to gain entry, a deal in which Didric uses despicable words to go back on the deal, leaving Fletcher outside of the gate and on his own. Didric soon leaves the post and Fletcher is force to make a new deal with another guard. With kill in hand Fletcher sets off home and heads for bed, for he know that the migrating traders will be arriving the following day. So far I have enjoy reading about Fletcher. Already he seems to be a capable young boy, able to handle thing on his own. Though I do question how truly smart he is due to the fact of getting swindled and lock outside the gates. However the book has peaked my interest so far and I look forward to read more about Fletcher.
